专利说明:

The invention relates to a device for post-treatment of tufted bristles comprising two drum-type splitting members which carry on the peripheral side of the splitting knives and a drive unit for the clutch units. splitting.
For a plurality of brushes, in particular brushes or brushes, the individual bristles of the tufts of bristles previously inserted in a brush body must be divided or split at their free ends to thereby obtain a surface enlargement. Better material absorption is achieved by the enlarged surface. More dust can thus be absorbed by cleaning brushes or brushes and more material to be spread can be absorbed by brushes. In addition, the split hairs have a softer surface which is advantageous, particularly for coating brushes or cleaning brushes, for example for vehicles or other objects having sensitive surfaces.
Corresponding devices are already known for splitting tufts of hair. The bristle article whose tufts of bristles are to be split is fed to a rotatable splitting member on which are disposed splitting knives and the tufts of bristles are thereby slit. Since for a uniform and complete splitting and splitting of the bristles, subsequent treatment of the bristle article must take place in the direction of rotation of the cleaving element and in the opposite direction, two driven splitting members in the opposite direction are necessary, which is why the device is very bulky. Devices are also known comprising a splitting member which is rotated alternately in opposite directions. It is true that here, the size is reduced, but the working cycle is extended by the change of direction of the rotational movement and the braking and the new drive of the splitting member which are linked thereto. In addition, this leads to increased heating of the motor of the drive unit and therefore to increased wear. Additional parts of the drive unit, particularly the drive belts, are also subject to increased wear.
The problem therefore consists in providing a device of the type mentioned at the beginning which is compact and needs little space and which can in addition operate with shorter cycle times. In addition, the wear must be reduced.
The solution according to the invention to this problem consists in particular in that the splitting members are arranged one behind the other in the axial direction, in that a first splitting member is mounted on a shaft which is guided in a hollow shaft carrying the second splitting member and in that the drive unit is designed for rotational movement in opposite directions of the two splitting members.
The device can thus be made compact. Since no reversal of the direction of rotation occurs on the drive unit, there is no loss of time due to inversion and the cycle time is reduced. In addition, no increased wear occurs due to the disappearance of the reversal of the direction of rotation.
Due to the disposition of the splitting members directly next to each other, the displacement stroke, therefore the relative movement between the splitting members and the brushing article to be treated, which is necessary to treat the article Brushing over its entire width is reduced compared to devices comprising two separate splitting members spaced apart from each other.
One embodiment provides that the drive unit has two motors for driving the shaft and the hollow shaft. This allows a simple drive of the shaft and the hollow shaft independently of one another. The shaft and the hollow shaft can be connected directly to the motor shaft or indirectly, for example by belts and pulleys.
However, it is also possible that the drive unit has a common motor for driving the shaft and the hollow shaft and a deflection device for driving the shaft and the hollow shaft in opposite directions. For example, the deflection device may have belts which are guided on appropriately arranged pulleys. Since only one motor is needed, the device can be made cheaper and with a smaller footprint.
It is appropriate that the splitting members can be moved longitudinally in the axial and / or radial direction. The distance from the brush article to be treated can be varied by displacement in the axial direction to be able to adapt the device to brushes having bristles of different lengths. The possibility of displacement in the axial direction allows the treatment of brush articles which are wider than the individual splitting members.
Alternatively, the splitting members may also be permanently disposed and the brush article is positioned and moved relative to the splitting members. For this purpose, a retaining and positioning device may be provided for positioning a brushing article to be treated in front of the splitting members and for moving the brushing article relative to the splitting members in the axial direction and / or radial.
Another idea of the invention provides that two pairs of splitting members with which a common drive unit is associated are disposed one beside or above the other. This makes it possible to process twice as many brushes per unit of time without doubling the space requirement and the costs of the device, since the drive unit finds a common use for the two pairs of splitting members. .
Exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are explained in more detail below on the basis of the drawings.
It is shown in fig. 1 a device for the subsequent treatment of hair tufts comprising a drive unit having two motors, FIG. 2 a top view partly in section of the arrangement of Figure 1, fig. 3 a device for the subsequent treatment of tufted bristles comprising a drive unit having a single motor, and FIG. 4 a top view partly in section of the arrangement of Figure 3.
A device designated in its entirety by 1 for the subsequent treatment of tufts of bristles 2 of a brush article 3, here a brush or a large brush comprising a brush body 17 in which are inserted tufts of bristles 2, present according to 1 and 2 are drum-type splitting members 4a, 4b which bear on the peripheral side of the splitting knives 5. The splitting knives 5 are respectively hook-shaped, the free end of a splitting knife 5 being directed forward in the direction of rotation. The two splitting members 4a, 4b respectively carry slicing knives 5 oriented in one direction and are respectively designed for a direction of rotation. The free ends of the tufts of bristles 2 are split from two sides due to rotation in opposite directions of splitting members 4a, 4b, whereby splitting or complete and uniform splitting is achieved. Due to the splitting of the free ends of the tufts, their surface is enlarged, which allows them to acquire a better absorption capacity, for example of dust or paint particles depending on the type of brush article. In addition, the free ends of the tufts acquire a softer surface, which is particularly advantageous for brushes for treating sensitive surfaces.
In order to be able to treat the brush article 3 over its entire width, it is retained by a retaining and positioning device (not shown) in front of the splitting members 4a, 4b in a displaceable manner (arrow Pf 1, FIG. the axial direction of the splitting members 4a, 4b. Alternatively, the device 1 can also be positioned along the brush article 3.
As can be seen in particular in Figure 2, that 4a of the two splitting members which is located inside is mounted on a hollow shaft 6 with an intermediate piece 8 of cylindrical shape. The outer splitting member 4b is mounted on a shaft 7 which passes through the hollow shaft 6. To compensate for the different radii of the shaft 7 and the hollow shaft 6, there is provided an intermediate part 9 between the shaft 7 and the external splitting member 4b. Therefore, it is possible to use identical splitting members 4a, 4b which are mounted in opposite directions with respect to the orientation of the knives to be split 5. The shaft 7 and the hollow shaft 6 are mounted on bearings 10 so that they are fixed in the radial direction and can rotate independently of one another.
To drive the shaft 7 and the shaft 6 and therefore the two splitting members 4a, 4b, there is provided a drive unit 11 with two motors 12a, 12b. The motors 12a, 12b are respectively in driving connection via the pulleys 13 and the belts 14 with the shaft 7 on the one hand and with the hollow shaft 6 on the other hand. The motor 12a from above in FIG. 1 drives the hollow shaft 6 and therefore the splitting member 4a located closer to the drive unit 11 in the direction of the arrow Pf2 and the motor 12b from below in the figure. 1 drives the shaft 7 guided in the hollow shaft 6 and thus the outer splitting member 4b in the direction of the arrow Pf3.
Because of this construction, the device 1 is particularly compact and can also be used in environments in the limited space. For example, it may be disposed after a disconnecting device present. Since the motors must not be subject to any change of direction with the associated braking, stopping and restart times, and instead, treatment of the tuft of bristles 2 can take place at the same time in both directions of rotation, the cycle time for treating a brush article 3 can be reduced. The displacement stroke to be made by the brushing article 3 to position all its tufts of bristles 2 in front of the splitting members 4a, 4b is also reduced by the arrangement of splitting members 4a, 4b directly adjacent to each other. the other. Wear is also reduced, as the motors can operate continuously without changing direction.
Figures 3 and 4 show a device 1 modified with respect to Figures 1 and 2 in that a single common motor 12 is provided for driving the shaft 7 and the hollow shaft 6 and therefore the two splitting members 4a, 4b .
To arrive at the two opposite directions of rotation (arrows Pf2, Pf3), the drive unit 11 has an inner deflection pulley 15 on which the belt 14 runs with its outer surface to drive the hollow shaft 6. Next to the inner deflection pulley 15 is provided with an outer deflection pulley 16 which is connected in rotation with it and around which the other belt 14 for the shaft 7 is arranged with its inner surface. Therefore, the reversal of the direction of rotation and the pulleys 13 associated with the shaft 7 and the hollow shaft 6 are obtained and thus the two splitting members 4a, 4b rotate in the opposite direction of rotation.
The device 1 according to FIGS. 3 and 4 thus requires a still smaller construction space than the device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 and, moreover, only a single motor 12 is necessary, which reduces the costs of the device 1.
Splitting devices 4a, 4b can be provided with suction devices which are known per se for sucking up the material residues produced during splitting, in particular small pieces of hair and dust of material, these devices not being shown in the figures for reasons of visibility.
